Timber Production

Stock Lists (14 September 2018):
- Beech (MS Excel - 22kb)
- Elm (MS Excel - 13kb)
- Oak (MS Excel - 13kb)

Woodworkz has two methods of milling larger logs.

Option 1Logosoling is a system where guide beams are attached to the log and a chainsaw is then run along the beam to make a straight cut. This can be done using one of the large Stihl chainsaws, but changing the blade length to suit the girth of the log. We now have the ability of using our 59” blade, which can cut up to 50” (around 1200mm) wide boards.

Option 2 – is the use of our Timberking 2200. This can mill 6.5m long logs, with a height of cut at 735mm (plus a 406mm throat) and the maximum width (between the guide rollers) of 840mm.

We can mill up to 990mm diameter logs.

The kiln we use is a Woodmizer Heat Vent Kiln installed in a 20’ reefer container. This will be updated to a computer controlled Lauber Kiln shortly.

Extraction - Woodworkz has its own machinery to lift or drag out timber from difficult locations. This is achieved with our Unimog with a 20 tonne-metre Hiab, and a 7 tonne winch mounted on the front. It also has a bespoke trailer to carry the loads up to 12 tonnes.
